Red Wings-Sharks: Detroit Beats San Jose, 6-0!
After watching the Red Wings dismantle the Sharks 6-0, I thought to myself, “Dude, what the heck happened here? Where did the 52-point Sharks go?" I still haven't found an answer. Apparently, the only competition in the West on paper and on the ice for the Sharks these days is defending Stanley Cup Champion Detroit. The Red Wings have earned points in 16 of their last 20 games (14-4-2) while the Sharks fell to 5-1-1 in their last seven road games. Many thought before the game that the Red Wings might not have a good chance to win due to the absence of Chris Osgood and his groin injury. Not the case, my friends! Ty Conklin came to the rescue and recorded 24 saves for his sixth NHL shutout. And Pavel Datsyuk was Detroit's offensive star with two goals and two assists. But I was surprised by the lack of mobility and effort put forth by the Sharks tonight. They never had it and weren't in sync.
