... DIDN'T SEE THAT ONE COMING: There have been a lot of rumors in the past couple years about Ken Griffey Jr. going a lot of places (Seattle, Boston, New York), but to my knowledge, the Chicago White Sox had never been mentioned as a likely destination. Well, today, Griffey appears destined to be a South Sider. The Reds have agreed to trade Griffey to the ChiSox for an unknown package of players, and the deal just awaits Griffey's approval, Ken Rosenthal reports. (Foxsports.com) ...

For the second time this year, a start was highly anticipated, with ramifications for the rest of the season. Unlike Mark Mulder's implosion, though, Chris Carpenter's night was much more of what we wanted to see. Four innings was a little short, but he was getting close to his pitch count and came up in the top of the fifth, which was a logical place for a pinch-hitter. He got stronger as the night went on, only allowed one run (though numerous base runners) and has something to build on for his next outing against the Dodgers at home. (I'm sure he'll get a standing ovation when he takes the mound that night!) It's another one of those nights where it's hard to pick a ...

Griffey to the White Sox pending approval
Published 7/31/2008 by Eric Stashin at Rotoprofessor
Ken Rosenthal of foxsports.com (click here for the article) is reporting that the Cincinnati Reds have traded Ken Griffey Jr. to the Chicago White Sox, pending his approval of the deal. The Griffey rumors had been very minimal of late, so this one came out of leftfield. The White Sox also seem to be pretty set on corner outfielders with Carlos Quentin & Jermaine Dye, as well as DH with Jim Thome. Nick Swisher is currently playing CF, with Rosenthal speculating that the team could use Griffey in that role, with Swisher shifting to 1B to spell Paul Konerko. It seems like Griffey is not really a need for the White Sox, unless there’s a corresponding move to be made here. We’ll have more on the deal when ...

Not really sure what this does to our club, but, we shall find out.
I imagine that he will play center, maybe some at the corner outfield spots if Q or JD needs a day. But, Swish and Paulie's roles with the team will drasticly reduce. My question is, where is the pitching?
It is unknown what they gave up in the deal, so It could possible lead to something else.
