Nothing is set in stone yet, but Green Bay Packers Pro Bowl wide receiver Greg Jennings is on his way to becoming one of the NFL's highest paid receivers.
An anonymous NFL Source confirmed that the Packers had a contract near completion that would pay Jennings an average of $9 million per season. The contract extension would run through 2012.
He has earned his payday, over the past two seasons, averaging 67 catches for 1,106 yards, 16.9 YPC, and 11 TD's. He is only 25 and has not even hit his prime yet.
Unless the deal falls through, Jennings' would become the NFL's third-highest paid WR, and would also garner roughly $16 million in guarantees.
In comparison, he would be averaging about $1 million more in annual salary, and $1 million more in guaranteed money then top WR TJ Houshmandzadeh got on the open market with the Seattle Seahawks.
