Is there really a market for Jeremy Shockey if the Giants want to trade him?
That’s an interesting question, because an NFL source out of Seattle today told me he wasn’t sure whether the Seahawks really planned to be players in the Shockey sweepstakes. There’s also a blog item in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that the Seahawks have no “serious” interest in acquiring Shockey . (The report, in fact, indicates their interest might stop completely if the asking price were higher than a seventh-round pick.)
Well, as I told you earlier, two NFL sources confirmed for me on Tuesday that the Saints and Seahawks were the two teams that were pursuing Shockey the most. And that backed up what I heard a week earlier when I was told that if Shockey was traded, it wouldn’t necessarily be to the Saints, who have been the only team to confirm their interest so far.
So what should you believe? Neither my source nor the report in the Seattle PI said the Seahawks absolutely aren’t interested. That should tell ...
