Reports: UCLA's Love & Collison headed to draft

Reports out of the West Coast indicate freshman center Kevin Love and junior point guard Darren Collison of UCLA both intend to declare for the NBA draft, where they should be first-round selections. No surprise there. If Ben Howland also loses sophomore guard Russell Westbrook, who has been projected as a lottery pick, and 6-8 junior forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, he could have a major rebuilding project on his hands, even though he is bringing in one of the best recruiting classes in the country. The 6-9 Love - who has an extroverted, infectious personality - will hold a press conference later today to announce plans for his future. Westbrook and Mbah a Moute will meet with the media tomorrow. • Two big spring hoops events this week: The Hoop Group’s Pittsburgh Jam Fest (a sanctioned event for college coaches) and the Jordan Brand Classic at the Garden (don’t forget the international game at 4 p.m.).
