Xavier Henry, one of the Top 5 prospects in the class of 2009, has decided to keep his committment to attend Kansas, putting an end to speculation, fueled by his father Carl, that he might attend Kentucky because he wanted to play for John Calipari.
Carl Henry sent the Jayhawk nation into hysteria when he told a local Kansas City talk show his two sons - Xavier and C.J., a minor league baseball player in the Yankees' system who spent last year as a walk-on at Memphis - were having second thoughts and might ultimately wind up in Lexington.
Xavier, a 6-6 swing forward from Oklahoma City, should give the Jayhawks enough talent to emerge as a lock for preseason No. 1 and stop Calipari from having to slash another scholarship player from his roster. The Cats, who have six new players, are currently down to the allowable limit of 13 after jettisoning two former players - Kevin Galloway and Mike Pilgrim.
