Reyes, Perez lead Mets past Phillies 4-2 (AP)

Oliver Perez pitched 5 2-3 scoreless innings, Jose Reyes hit a two-run homer and the New York Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 Saturday. David Wright had a two-run double for the Mets, who won their fourth straight against Philadelphia after losing nine in a row over two seasons. Each of New York's wins has come with 2007 NL MVP Jimmy Rollins missing from the Phillies' lineup.

Tuesday Night saw the Mets provide me, and the rest of their fans a reason to not boo them . 4 hits from Jose Reyes, a Home Run and 5 RBIs from David Wright and 7 shutout innings from Mike Pelfrey added up to a resounding 6-0 victory over Washington that provided several encouraging signs. I personally loath Tim McCarver more than any other personality broadcasting today. While Joe Morgan and others garner a lot of guff, McCarver, more than any other announcer, has continually irked me for years .
