Rhodes 'hurt' by Vilma's departure, but raring to go

 
Kerry Rhodes, the Jets’ freshly-minted millionaire, spoke to the beat writers this afternoon on a conference call. There were no headline remarks, but he did have a few interesting nuggets: He admitted that, with all the money being spent on free agents, he harbored fleeting thoughts on whether he’d receive this kind of contract extension - five years, $33 million, including $20 million guaranteed. He said he was “hurt” by the loss of friend and teammate Jonathan Vilma, who was traded to the Saints. “Hollywood” also said he turned down acting roles so he could concentrate on football.
