The fourth-seed playoff contender from 2009 has joined in one the NBA free agent frenzy by agreeing in principle with Hedo Turkoglu on a long-term contract.
Hedo Turkoglu will receive a contract worth about $50 million over five seasons from the Portland Trailblazers.
Once Hedo Turkoglu opted out of his contract with the Orlando Magic and before draft night when the Orlando Magic acquired SG Vince Carter, the writing was on the wall that Hedo was not going to return in a Magic uniform.
Now what does Turkoglu give the Portland Trailblazers? Well, if you look at their starting five, they really didnt have a starting small forward, and bringing in Turkoglu brings not only a starting SF but it brings in a huge matchup problems for opposing teams.
Turkoglu, with the Orlando Magic, scored 16.8 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 4.3 APG and having a player like that now in Portland will definitely help Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, and LaMarcus Aldridge make Portland a whole lot better.
