Roberts Shows up in Cubs Camp, Denies He's Still with O's

Buoyed by internet rumors dogging him all winter, second baseman Brian Roberts showed up in Tucson for the Cubs game against the D-Backs on Wednesday in full Chicago Cubs uniform, saying, “I think I was traded to the Cubs yesterday.  Or maybe not.  Either way, it’s inevitable so I figured I might as well get started.”    Cubs GM Jim Hendry was both excited to see Roberts yet confused as to who he’d send over to O’s camp in return.  “I don’t know how this happened or who I may have traded, but I’d better act quickly before they realize what has happened and ask for him to come back.”  Recognizing that, Hendry was seen quickly sending Eric Patterson and Sean Gallagher on a bus to Orioles camp.   Later in the day, Hendry was seen sneaking around Red Sox camp talking to Coco Crisp, though no one knows for sure what that was about.
