Ronaldo Passes 100th Goal Mark As Manchester United Defeats Stoke City, 5-0
Manchester United celebrated Fergie's 50th anniversary in football with a 5-0 win over Stoke City at Old Trafford. There was over 75,000 people in attendance and they were not disappointed.
United opened the goal scoring in the 3rd minute, when Cristiano Ronaldo converted a free kick into a goal. It was his 100th goal for Manchester United. Stoke attempted to get a goal back 12 minutes later, only to have Edwin van der Sar clear the ball. For most of the first half, it was United who were in control and in the 45th minute they got another goal. Michael Carrick, who is back from injury, drove in a goal to make the score 2-0 to the Reds.
Manchester United went into the second half with a renew vigor and less than five minutes in, Dimitar Berbatov volleyed a shot into the net from Tevez cross. The score was now 3-0 to United.
