Royals sign Duckworth, Smith

 
The Royals avoided salary arbitration by agreeing to terms with two players, pitcher Brandon Duckworth and infielder Jason Smith, on Wednesday. Both players will sign one-year contracts, the club announced. Terms were not disclosed. (link)
