Nolan Ryan was hired yesterday as president of the Texas Rangers, who brought back the Hall of Fame pitcher their fans once flocked to see.

Nearly 20 years after leaving the Astros for the Texas Rangers, Nolan Ryan is headed back to Arlington. The Texas Rangers have called a press conference for 3 p.m. today where they will introduce Ryan as their president of business operations. Ryan is in the fifth year of a five-year personal services contract with the Astros.The Express arrives, but no autographs please

The next stop on my quest to get to know the NL is in Houston, Texas. The Diamondbacks only left me with questions, I hope I can learn more about the Stros. What's your deal Astros? Last year the Stros went 73-89, good enough for fourth in the weak NL Central. Their 2007 offense can best be described as paltry.
