Sabres open roster spot for Hecht (AP)

Sabres forward Clarke MacArthur was demoted to Buffalo's minor-league affiliate in Rochester on Thursday, opening a roster spot for the anticipated return of veteran Jochen Hecht. MacArthur had been a healthy scratch for three games before returning to the lineup in a 3-1 loss to Washington on Wednesday.
