Santana hardly dominant but stops Mets' bleeding

Both the Mets' and Yankees' seasons will be graded on a
curve - or rather on a fastball, changeup and slider. The latter three constitute the repertoire of Johan Santana, the pitcher the Yankees didn't get and the Mets did. He will be the New York measuring stick in 2008.

Yeah, I know. There’s a Subway Series being played this weekend. Yankees vs. Mets. American League vs. National League. New York City bragging rights. Johan Santana sticking it to Hank Steinbrenner and the Yanks, which he did Saturday. I’m supposed to be all fired up. The baseball world is supposed to stop.
