Sealants win Portsmouth Invitational Tournament

 
Illinois forward Shaun Pruitt scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, Ohio State point guard Jamar Butler scored 18, Xavier forward Josh Duncan had 15 points and nine rebounds, St. Joseph’s forward Pat Calathes contributed 14 points and seven rebounds and Temple’s versatile guard Mark Tyndale finished with eight points, seven rebounds and eight assists as the Portsmouth Sealants defeated the Portsmouth Sports Club, 103-80, in the championship game of the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament Saturday night at Churchill High School. Forward Kyle Hines of UNC-Greensboro, who shot 8-for-9 and was a blistering 22-for-28 for he tournament, led the Sports Club with 16 points and seven rebounds. Forward Frank Elegar of St. Ray’s and Drexel had 19 points, six rebounds and an impressive eight blocks for Naval Shipyard during a 82-81 loss to Rounds Landscaping in the third place game.
