Season Mercifully Ending for Braves, But Chipper Jones Has One Thing Left to Do

The Atlanta Braves are playing their final series of the 2008 season: a three-game set against the Houston Astros.  The Braves, assured of a fourth-place finish in the NL East, have little left to play for, except to see Chipper Jones clinch the National League batting title. Jones, who finished second in last year's batting race, appears to be in good position to hold off Albert Pujols for this year's title with a .364 to .356 advantage heading into Sunday's action.  The Braves were picked by many to return to the top of the NL East this season, but they lost starting pitchers John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, and Tim Hudson, along with closer Rafael Soriano, to season-ending injuries.
