Several Players in Union Leadership Express Support for Upshaw

Tennessee Titans center Kevin Mawae, the newly elected president of the union, has issued a written statement saying that Matt Stover's effort to remove Gene Upshaw as executive director of the NFL Players Association is not a widespread movement. "Matt Stover's letter does not reflect the view of the entire executive committee or the board of player representatives," Mawae said.
