Ladies and gentlemen, your hero of last night's Phillies-Cardinals game is Shane Victorino.
That's right, the player who looks like he has on his father's jersey. The one who looks like he weighs less than the kids Sally Struthers picks up. This just goes to show you that anyone in that lineup can beat you.
The Phillies were struggling against the likes of Todd Wellemeyer; that's right Todd Wellemeyer. Then once they got into that Cardinals bullpen, Shane Victorino hit a big three-run homer to give the Phils a 5-3 lead.
At that point we knew Brad Lidge was coming into the game. Game over. Right? Not so fast. Last night Brad Lidge remembered he's Brad Lidge.
He started things off by giving up a monstrous home run to none other than home-run-a-day Troy Glaus. Then Brad Lidge proceeded to put three people on base and managed to strike out the final two hitters of the day, avoiding Albert Pujols, who was on deck looming.
