Sharks Re-Sign Ryane Clowe to Three-Year Deal

TSN's Darren Dreger reported a few days ago that the San Jose Sharks were shopping restricted free agent Ryane Clowe, testing the market for the 26-year-old forward that can play both wings. The Sharks decided against trading the promising power forward, and inked him to a three-year pact worth $3.5 million per season today. Clowe had a breakout season last year for San Jose, setting career highs in goals (22), assists (30), and points (52) in 71 games. He was originally a sixth-round pick by the Sharks. Several teams came calling for the Sharks' hybrid winger, including the Philadelphia Flyers and Toronto Maple Leafs. Dreger reported that the Sharks were asking the Flyers for Scott Hartnell or Claude Giroux, a price Paul Holmgren clearly didn't want no part in. (link)
