Sheffield goes deep as Tigers tie Tribe

Gary Sheffield blasted a two-run shot and Placido Polanco scored and drove in a run, but the Tigers were forced to settle for a no-decision in a 3-3 tie with the Indians on Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers’ other center field options: Freddy Guzman, Brandon Inge, Ryan Rayburn, Jacque Jones. Could Gary Sheffield and Magglio Ordonez man the corners, with Jones playing center? Gary’s knees say no. Could Marcus Thames see more at-bats than expected? A definite possibility. Could Inge be handed a starting spot? That would be fun. Rayburn hit .304/.340/.507 in 148 plate appearances in 2007.Granderson injured
