For the last hour or so I’ve been taking a long walk down Memory Lane with Jeremy Shockey, compiling a list of his career highlights and lowlights for my newspaper just in case he gets dealt this afternoon. And I have to tell you, when you read the long list of stupid things he’s said and done, it’s hard not to come to the conclusion that he’s more trouble than he’s worth.
I still don’t know if I’d trade him. That depends on what the offer is, but I’d be tempted by a 2nd and 5th - especially if New Orleans would make that a 5th in this year’s draft instead of next year’s. But boy, from his training camp fight with Brandon Short to calling Bill Parcells a “homo”, to throwing ice at a kid in the San Francisco stands, to his “outcoached” outburst, to telling friends how unhappy he is in New York, he sure has said and done a lot of dumb things:
