In a bit of a surprise, Tyler Sloan has been recalled and is on the ice for the morning skate. The other six defensemen, including Karl Alzner, are out there, as well. Update: Sloan is here because Jeff Schultz is hurting. The Caps haven't said exactly what's wrong, but I think it would be safe to assume that it's his finger again. Meantime, it looks as though Alzner will be in the lineup tonight against the banged-up Blue Jackets. Sergei Fedorov and Tomas Fleischmann also appear to be set to return. If that is indeed the case, based on yesterday's practice, that would mean Eric Fehr and Michael Nylander are out. I hope to have a salary cap update in a little bit.
