Soto looking forward to Opening Day

By the last week of Spring Training, Geovany Soto is usually in the Minor League camp. This year, he's five days away from being the Opening Day catcher for the Cubs.

The Chicago Cubs finalized their roster today, with a surprising demotion. First, Ronny Cedeno beat out Alex Cintron for the back-up shortstop job. Second, Mike Fontenot beat out Matt Murton for the final outfield spot. Murton is a surprise to myself as he was in constant trade talk with the Texas Rangers and was just an all out solid player for last years NL Central division winners. Matt Murton lost his roster spot in part because of the Reed Johnson acquisition and in part because the Cubs are run poorly. He's headed to Triple-A or, hopefully for his sake, another organization.
