Sources: M's deal for Bedard on hold

 
The Mariners have asked OF Adam Jones to retrun to the U.S. from winter ball in Venezuela, an indication that a deal for O's left-hander Erik Bedard may be close. Jones is the centerpiece of the M's offer for Bedard, major-league sources say, and the team would not want him to risk injury by continuing to play if the trade was imminent. (link)
