Spikes out, needs rotator cuff surgery

Takeo Spikes needs surgery on a torn rotator cuff, and the Philadelphia Eagles said Wednesday they will place the veteran linebacker on injured reserve.
Spikes, injured in Sunday's 10-6 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, will have surgery on Friday and miss the last two games of the season.
Spikes ranks second on the Eagles (6-8) with 139 tackles, including 90 solo tackles. He also has a sack.
