ANAHEIM – You know that shot they love to show on CBS of the players on each bench standing and waving towels or kneeling in front and filled with anxiety? You won’t be seeing any of those in this evening’s South Region second-round game between Stanford and Marquette. With 8:07 left in the first half the officials stopped the game and warned both benches against standing while the ball is in play.
It was met with thundering boos from fans of both teams as well as the throng of UCLA supporters who are waiting for the Bruins to take on Texas A&M.
I guess the only team emotion shots we’re going to get are the players with their elbows interlocked.
And hang on a second: I thought it was only baseball where both benches get warnings…..
