Star Jackson Will Live Up to His Name at Alabama
Not much has been written in the papers or mentioned on the radio about Bama's four-star, fifth-ranked overall QB recruit, Star Jackson.
However, the buzz around the field has been quite different.
During freshman practice on day one, there was much chatter about the 6'3" QB with the quick release and accurate, surprisingly strong arm.
"That kid's got an arm!" one writer exclaimed.
"When you think about playing QB, that's what it looks like."
"He's got a presence about him."
"He's a lot bigger than I thought he'd be."
"That kid's got IT."
Those were just a few of the things I heard as Star ripped off one accurate pass after another.
While we only get to see a few drills before they close practice, if you've been around football and practices long enough, you can tell a lot when you watch these kids in drills.
I've been fortunate enough to see quarterbacks Tyler Watts, Brodie Croyle, and JP Wilson when they first practiced as freshmen.
