Sugar is sweet, but nothing can take the taste of bad crow from my mouth. And I still have several helpings to go.
Such is the fate for this intoxicated and mournful writer as I sit to give to give kudos to the team that dispatched Alabama, much in the same fashion I thought Alabama would undo the Utes.
Utah beat Alabama in every phase of the game, offense, defense and special teams. The manhandled the Tides offense and defense and simply played the kind of physical game that Alabama thought they could win. (Dang, was that another feather?)
John Parker Wilson was no match for the Utes QB Brian Johnson. Alabama's makeshift offensive line was no match for the Utah defense either. Alabama seemed shell shocked the entire first quarter. (Can I get another Rum and Coke to wash down this crow?)
Many gave Utah at least a chance to win the game, but most believed Alabama simply had too much physical strength for the Utes to deal with. So did I. (Darn, not even BBQ sauce takes the bad ...
