Suitors line up for Shockey

 
In case you didn’t see it in the regular newspaper today, it’s looking like a two-horse race for Jeremy Shockey if - and that’s still a very big “if” - the Giants decide to trade him. We knew the Saints were interested. There actually might be even more teams involved - the Falcons top the list of my most likely suspects, though there have been persistent rumors that the Dolphins want him, too - but I’ve been told the Saints and the Seahawks are his most ardent pursuers. Keep in mind this, though: From what I can tell the Giants’ position remains unchanged. They don’t want to trade Shockey and they’re not shopping him, but they are at least willing to listen to offers. And while nothing has made them jump yet, there is a possibility the bidding will get high enough to make them do it. It all depends on how much the Saints and/or Seahawks are willing to spend.
