Basketball: It was a little closer than most expected but the U.S. redeemed its poor performance in Athens to beat Spain, 118-107, for the gold medal. Dwyane Wade was the big gun scoring 27 points. Kobe Bryant had 20 points, LeBron James had 14 and Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony had 13. Argentina beat Lithuania, 87-75, in the bronze medal game.
