IBF and IBO light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver will defend his title aganst fellow American Chad Dawson on Oct. 11 at the Palm Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
Tarver (27-4) heads into the bout with his 2000 loss to Eric Harding firmly in his mind.
"I'm looking at this guy as a serious threat," he said Wednesday. "The last time I overlooked somebody, I got my jaw broken."
The 39-year-old Tarver had been chasing Joe Calzaghe, but when the Welsh fighter accepted a match with Roy Jones Jr.
