Thabeet opts for another year at UConn

UConn 7-3 sophomore center Hasheem Thabeet, who had been projected as a first round NBA Draft pick, has decided to return to school for his junior year. Thabeet, who averaged 10 ppg, 8 rpg and had 147 blocked shots, should help cement the Huskies as a Top 5 team in the Big East next year, along with Louisville, Pitt, Notre Dame and Georgetown. UConn is undergoing somewhat of a facelift, with two sophomores - guard Dougie Wiggins and 6-9 forward Curtis Kelly from Rice High - opting to transfer. *** Just watching bits and pieces of the NFL Draft and noticed that Michigan running back Mike Hart from Syracuse - the best running back in the Big Ten - just went to the Indianapoliis Colts in the sixth round. Guess his 4.7, 40 speed scared some GMs off. [link]
