For those of us who play fantasy sports, the 2009 NBA free agency isn't coming as much of a surprise. We've all played in a league where thanks to smart drafting, a few guys jumped out to 4-0 while some other guys jumped to 0-4. You knew the panic trade or panic waiver drop was coming. You knew the 4-0 guys were going to use the fear of the teams going 0-4 to load up their already stacked roster. Well hold onto your keyboards because fantasy and reality have just met! Thanks to the recession, every GM has turned into a weird combination of Mike Dunleavy and Chris Wallace; they not only make bad trades that don't help them at all, but they send their best player in the package. Thanks to the recession, the Magic, Lakers, Celtics and Spurs have turned into Simon Cowell and everyone else is an American Idol contestant. Yes, even Cleveland. One 38-year-old center does not a super team make. Don't let Sportscenter confuse you. Even with Shaq, Cleveland still lacks what the other four teams ... (link)
