The latest goings-on in Yankeeland
I’m been basically resting and relaxing (and snoozing) instead of squawking over the past few days, while I recover from my torn calf muscle. But a lot has gone on in Yankeeland over that time. So, while I’m watching tonight’s game, I’m going to review what’s been happening. Forgive me if I forget anything!
First up is Joba Chamberlain going to the bullpen. Over the winter, I wrote that I wanted him to stay in the bullpen. But I agree with this decision now for the simple reason that it doesn’t do the Yanks a heck of a lot of good to have an eighth-inning weapon like him, when their starting pitching is so poor.
Is Darrell Rasner the Aaron Small or Shawn Chacon of 2008? Could be. He’s been terrific - 3-0, with a 1.89 ERA. If it comes to choosing between him and Ian Kennedy in the starting rotation, I would choose Rasner.
At least Kennedy finally had a good start last night. For one evening he showed the potential he had last season.
