Rod Thorn likes the way his team competed in Europe. That’s important to note since the Nets weren’t exactly bulldogs last year. Lawrence Frank admitted the same on Sunday, after the Nets improved to 2-0 in the preseason with a win over the Heat in London.
Speaking over the phone earlier, Thorn said he was impressed by a couple of things in the two games: The Nets’ will to win and the play of the team’s big men.
On the competitiveness of the team, Thorn noted how the Nets fell behind in both games only to fight back down the stretch and make big plays to pull out the wins.
“I think that’s a big thing for our team,” said Thorn. “You’ve got to compete every night. You’ve got to bring energy to the game, and I thought we did that.
“If we continue to compete, continue to get better, that’s what I’m looking at and what I’m hoping for from our guys,” Thorn said. “We’ve got a long way to go, ...
