Thumb infection hospitalizes Schneider

 
Brian Schneider left the Mets on Thursday morning with an infection in his left thumb and will be hospitalized overnight in New York. Catcher Gustavo Molina was summoned, while outfielder Brady Clark was designated for assignment. (link)
