Tigers put Inge on 15-day DL

Brandon Inge was put on the 15-day disabled list by the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday because of a pulled oblique muscle.
The move to disabled to catcher and designated hitter was retroactive to Monday.
Detroit purchased the contract of catcher Dane Sardinha from Triple-A Toledo to replace Inge on the roster.

DETROIT -- Less than 24 hours ago, Brandon Inge was expected to start at catcher today against St. Louis. This afternoon, his pulled oblique has him on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 23. The Tigers called up catcher Dane Sardinha from Toledo today to take his spot.
