Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators Will Chomp in Miami
Besides the fact that the Gators are loaded with oodles of talent and blazing speed, along with powerful leadership and brilliant coaching, they have another advantage for the BCS title game. The Oklahoma Sooners have the Heisman Trophy winner, Sam Bradford, as their starting quarterback.
Why, might you ask, do the Gators want their opponent to have the Heisman winner take the field against them this January? It is called the Heisman curse.
Many have tried the feat to win both the Heisman and the BCS Championship game in the same season. Many have failed. Only one was able to accomplish that feat: Matt Leinart and his USC Trojans defeated Oklahoma in 2005.
The only explanation that I have for Matt and USC to beat the curse—they also had another Heisman winner on the field at the same time, Reggie Bush. Although Bush did not win the Heisman until the next season, we all know what kind of electrifying capabilities he had.
