After a recent trade that shipped out guards Randy Foye and Mike Miller for the No. 5 pick and salary scraps (Darius Songaila, Etan Thomas, and Oleksiy Pecherov) the Minnesota Timberwolves are determined to keep wheeling and dealing.
The expiring contracts received puts them in position to grab a franchise type player like forward Chris Bosh in the 2010 NBA Free Agency period.
Now armed with four first-round picks, including the No. 5 and No. 6 picks, they have a lot of flexibility to make a deal.
An ideal trade would be with the Memphis Grizzlies who hold the No. 2 pick, but that has been nixed because of the Wolves' reluctance to part with both of their top picks or forward Kevin Love and a top pick.
After letting go of Miller and Foye, the Timberwolves now need two guards.
Common sense would entail they have a strong interest in Spanish guard Ricky Rubio.
