Titans Get Seven Sacks in 17-10 Win Over Jacksonville

David Garrard was sacked seven times by the Tennessee Titans' defense in a 17-10 opening day win for Tennessee over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Garrard couldn't seem to escape the Titans' D, completing 23 of 35 passes but throwing two crucial picks and getting sacked seven times. The Jaguars had a rough day on offense, running for only 33 yards (they were the second best rushing team in the AFC last year) and getting just 187 yards overall. They looked nothing like the team that was supposed to challenge Indianapolis for the AFC South title. Chris Johnson had a good first game for the Titans, picking up 93 yards on 15 carries and catching three passes for 34 yards and a touchdown. Vince Young had a rough day, going just 12-for-22 for 110 yards. He got one TD but threw two picks. In the fourth quarter, Young took a hard hit from the Jaguars' Daryl Smith and Young limped off the field.
