Tommy Hanson May Be On Pace For 432 Wins

 
Like many of you probably did, I recently read Heartbeat of the Bronx's article about Chien-Ming Wang's ETA at 300 games. That got me thinking, what about Tommy Hanson? So, I used some proportions and found that in 12-and-a-half years (when he's 34), Tommy Hanson should be a member of the 300-win club. That's winning four out of every five starts, as he is now with 30 starts per year (or 24 wins every season). Stretch that torrid (albeit unreasonable) pace out until the 22-year-old phenomenon is 40, and you get 432 wins. That's good enough to fall in second between Cy Young (511) and Walter Johnson (417). Now, I'm not saying that this will happen (not by a long shot), but this raises a pretty good question; how many wins is Tommy capable of getting? He has the nasty, overpowering stuff and has shown impeccable poise when the pressure's on. Is he young enough and (more importantly) durable enough to reach the 300-win plateau?
