Too Close to Call: A Look at Baseball's Division Races

 
This 2008 season has been crazy. Tampa Bay leads the AL East by one game over the Red Sox and three games over the Yankees. In the AL Central, the Tigers have not lived up to their expectations this season. The same can be said about the Cleveland Indians, who find themselves in last place in the AL Central, while the Chicago White Sox lead the division by a game and a half over the Minnesota. We now turn our attention to the national league. In the NL East, the New York Mets lead the division by a half a game, over the Philadelphia Phillies. Also the surprising Florida Marlins, are only one game out. The NL Central is crazy too, having the top three teams in the league hail from the same division. The Chicago Cubs lead the division over the Milwaukee Brewers by two games. Since their acquisition of CC Sabathia via trade, the team has been playing its best baseball.
