Here are my top 10 moments at Yankee Stadium, though this list could go on much longer than that.
10) Roger Clemens’ 300th win: I’ve never seen a no-hitter (okay, I was here for the Astros’ six-man no-no, but that’s not the same), I’ve never seen a 500th home run or any other type of major milestone. Watching Clemens win his 300th – especially after watching him fail to capture it a few times to that point – was pretty cool. That he got his 4,000th strikeout that night was icing on the cake.
9) 2000 World Series, Game 2: My stepfather and I were sitting on the loge level all the way out in left field in fair territory, so I can’t say I was able to see all that much. But the news eventually made its way down the line that Roger Clemens had thrown a broken bat at Mike Piazza, and replays confirmed it once I got home.
