New York knows how to boo a player wen they make an error or have a bad play (just ask Alex Rodriguez or Aaron Heilman). But lots of players get on the fans' good side, and the fans let them know it.
Those players turn in to kings in New York. I made a list of the top five such players (in my opinion), countdown style (No. 1 on the list is the most loved).
5. Jose Reyes
The 25-year-old shortstop from the Dominican republic has the energy and the talent at makes every body love him; he can run and he has the lucky No. 7 on his Jersey. What else do you need to have to be a New York favorite?
Best moment in New York: On July 23, 2008, he hit a three-run home run to get the Mets to a tie atop the NL East with a 6-3 win at Shea Stadium.
4. Brett Favre
The 38-year-old hall of fame QB came to New York and brought a new energy with him. The Jets are playing much better this year than last year and at most it is thanks to him.
