Top Five Heisman Trophy Candidates After Week One

 
After Week One, a ton of players showed that they have the potential to win the Heisman Trophy. That being said, this list isn't necessarily who is going to be on most Heisman lists, but rather who should be. 5) Donald Brown, UConn (23 carries for 146 yards, 4 TD) Brown followed up stellar freshman and sophomore seasons with an enormous game against Hofstra to start the 2008-2009 season. What those stats don't tell is that Brown scored all four touchdowns in the first half. If he can shoulder the load for the Huskies, they look poised to post another 9-4 year. For each big performance Brown has, it definitely enhances his chances as a darkhorse for the Heisman. 4) Mark Sanchez, USC (26-35, 338 yards, 3 TD, 1 rushing TD) There's no darkhorse about this pick. If Sanchez puts up big numbers two weeks from now in the Coliseum, don't be surprised if his name vaults to the top of this list.
