Tracking two-slam games

J.D. Drew and Mike Lowell hit grand slams for the Red Sox yesterday, the first time that Boston has had two in a game since Bill Mueller’s pair in Texas in 2003. It’s been a little while since I’ve done one of these charts, but I figured that this kind of thing doesn’t happen too often, so why not take a look back at the last two-grand slam game for each team in the majors? Well, here’s the answer… I like the mix of big names and small names, and am amazed that the last time for both the Tigers and Twins came against the Indians in the 1960s. Also worth noting that the Fernando Tatis pair for the Cardinals came in the same inning - how Chan Ho Park was allowed to stay in that game, I have no idea. (link)
