Trail Blazers Closing In On Deal With Hedo Turkoglu

The Portland Trail Blazers and top free agent SF Hedo Turkoglu will meet to formally discuss what is rumored to be a $50 million dollar contract offer from the team. The Blazers came out swinging with the offer at 12:01 a.m. yesterday when Free Agency officially began. Turkoglu is one of the top players available on a mediocre market and is expected to garner a contract in the $10-12 million dollar range. Turkoglu averaged 16.5 PPG in 2008 and was a vital part of the Magics' run to the NBA Finals this season. The Trail Blazers are also leaning towards acquiring PG Andre Miller as a backup option if a Turkoglu deal falls through. It has also been said Turkoglu has a $60 million dollar offer from the Toronto Raptors as well.
