Well I guess Brett Favre has been worth every penny.
At least so far anyway.
For as much as it pains me to admit it, the New York Jets are sitting pretty atop the AFC East.
And they did it all by themselves.
If there's one criticism you can levee upon the Jets, it's that they played too conservatively in the second half and allowed the Patriots to erase what was once an 18-point deficit.
Give credit to Matt Cassel, too, who would have thought that he'd pass for 400 yards or display excellent clock management on the final drive in the fourth quarter? It wasn't his fault that the Patriots lost.
But Brett Favre marched down the field, and Jay Feely just hooked the football in the right upright, and the Jets eked out a 34-31 win in Foxborough.
Next week both teams face tough games, the Jets visit the Titans and the Pats visit the Dolphins. It should be one heck of a ride in the AFC east the rest of the way.
