Twins recall ace Liriano, expected to start Sunday
Published 4/12/2008 at FOXSports.com News for MLB
The Minnesota Twins recalled left-hander Francisco Liriano on Friday, and he's expected to make his first start after missing all of last season because of elbow surgery Sunday against the Kansas City Royals.
Liriano was 12-3 with a 2.16 ERA as a rookie in 2006. He started 16 games and appeared in 12 others, striking out 144 in 121 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .205 average. But he was shut down after a Sept. 13 start against Oakland when he left after two innings.

Twins stay warm in the cold
Cold weather isn't usually the best prescription for how to get an offense out of a slump, but it certainly has been for the Twins. Minnesota used another strong start from Livan Hernandez and a four-run second inning to beat the Royals on Friday, 5-0.
